DAY 01. ARRIVE DELHI.
Arrive Delhi. You will be met outside the customs enclosure and escorted
till your check in at the hotel. Overnight.
DAY 02. DELHI -
SULTANPUR - DELHI Post breakfast proceed by surface to Sultanpur
Bird Sanctuary.
Located at a distance of 46 Kms from Delhi,
Sultanpur
Bird Sanctuary is a haven to a variety of domestic and migratory birds.
Artificial mound, have turned into a green glade. The marsh has been
converted into a water body. And with the years, hundreds of species of
migratory birds have winged in to stay. Winter brings in birds from as far
as Siberia. Flock of geese from Europe wing in too. The local birds flap in.
The bird population include darters, egrets shovellers, gadwell and geese
dominate. Teals, kingfishers, lapwings, sandpipers, demoiselle cranes and
such like water birds nestle in. Over 100 species have been identified here.
Return to Delhi in the late afternoon. Evening at leisure and
overnight.
DAY 03. DELHI - BHARATPUR
Morning after breakfast proceed by surface to Bharatpur. Check in on
arrival.
The marshes of Keoladeo, more popularly known as Bharatpur,
were the private hunting reserve of the Maharajas of Bharatpur. It was
developed in the late 19th century by creating small dams and bunds in an
area of natural depression to collect rainwater and by feeding it with an
irrigation canal. Over the years, the lakes attracted great numbers of
waterfowl and the Maharajas held grand shoots with family, friends and
visiting dignitaries. Two-thirds of the park lies under water, the extent
and volume depending on the intensity of the rains. The remaining one-third
of the park is covered in dry deciduous forests (with Acacia, Ber, Kadam and
Khajur trees) and extensive grasslands. On the raised ground outlining the
wetlands grow a profusion of Acacia trees, where the resident water birds
nest, often in large mixed colonies, a spectacular sight during the monsoon.
Keoladeo is famous as one of Asia's finest birding areas, with
over 380 resident and migrant species, including the Common, Demoiselle and
the rare Siberian Cranes. It is also an excellent place to watch mammals
like Golden Jackal, Striped Hyena, Fishing Cat, Jungle Cat, Nilgai, Sambar,
Blackbuck and wild Boar. The park derives its name from the temple of
Keoladeo (Shiva) and 'ghana', which locally means dense, implying the nature
of the vegetation. During the cool winter months it is also possible to see
large Indian Pythons sunning themselves.

DAY 04. IN BHARATPUR Early morning and
late afternoon do the bird watching on cycle rickshaws. Evening at leisure
and overnight.
DAY 05. IN BHARATPUR Early morning and late afternoon enjoy the
bird watching. Evening at leisure and overnight.
DAY 06.
BHARATPUR - FATEHPUR SIKRI - AGRA (56 KMS/35 MILES) Post breakfast
proceed by surface to Agra, enroute visiting Fatehpur sikri. Arrive Agra and
check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit the world famous Taj Mahal and Fort.
Evening at leisure and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 07.
AGRA - CORBETT NATIONAL PARK (415 KMS/259 MILES) After an early
breakfast proceed by surface to Corbett National Park. Arrive late evening
and check in at the hotel.
Corbett National Park, 'the land of the
trumpet, roar and song' where Project Tiger was launched in 1973, is
regarded as one of India's finest national park. The major wildlife boasts
Tiger, Asian Elephant, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Gaur, Sambar, and Hogg Deer.
Corbett is drained by the Ramganga River, the dam at Kalagarh forming a huge
lake to the west of the park. The park is essentially a large low valley.
A range of hills runs through the middle of the park, roughly
east to west with an elevation varying from 400 - 1,200 Mts. The forests are
moist deciduous, with Sal as the climatic climax. Chir Pine trees are to be
found on the higher ridges of the hills. On the low-lying areas riverine
forests, Shisham, Khair and Haldu trees, are intermixed with grasslands
known locally as 'Chaurs'.
The park is conveniently located and
it is one of the most visited parks of India with varying standards of
accommodation found in the different ranges of the park.
This
park has more than 300 species of birds, which covers woodlands, grasslands
and marshlands bird species like woodpeckers, parakeets, barbets etc.

afternoon enjoy the bird watching.

DAY 10. CORBETT - DELHI (300 KMS/188 MILES) Morning post breakfast
proceed by surface to Delhi. Arrive late afternoon and proceed to airport
hotel where you can relax in the lobby till your late night transfer to
International airport to connect flight for onward destination.
DAY 11. LEAVE DELHI Take the flight back home today.
Note: The above parks are closed during the monsoon months from June till
September every year.
Birds

birds and that is the reason, which led to the inventions of gliders and
airplanes.
