DAY 01. ARRIVE DELHI Arrive
Delhi. You will be met on arrival and escorted till your check in at the
hotel. Overnight.
DAY 02. IN DELHI Post breakfast
proceed for the city tour of Old and New Delhi. Drive past the opulent Red
Fort. Visit Jama Masjid - the biggest mosque of Asia, Rajgaht - memorial
site of Mahatma Gandhi and later enjoy a rickshaw ride through the busy
streets of Chandni Chowk, the shopping center of Old Delhi. In the afternoon
proceed for the tour of New Delhi and visit Humayun's Tomb - the mausoleum
of Emperor Humayun, Qutab Minar built by Qutab-ud-din Aibek. Drive past the
secretarial offices, Parliament. Visit the India Gate - war memorial and
Connaught place, the city center. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY
03. DELHI - NAWALGARH (275 KMS/173 MILES) Post breakfast leave for
Nawalgarh enroute having lunch at Mandawa Castle. Arrive early evening and
check in at Roop Niwas Palace.
Nawalgarh is in the Shekhawati
region in Rajasthan's districts of Jhunjhunu & Sikir, known for the
painted houses or "Havelis" of its wealthy merchant class, the
Marwaris. This region could be called the open-air art gallery of Rajasthan.
The drive to Shekhawati is through picturesque village and farms.
Founded in 1737 AD by Thakur Nawal Singh, a warrior statesman, whose name is
enshrined in history and folklore. The town exudes an Old World charm and
the colourful bazaar has the largest number of painted Havelis in
Shekhawati.
Evening meet at the stables for tea, distributions of
welcome gifts then ride around the palace grounds to choose your horse.
Cocktails and detail briefing of the tour and introduction talk on the arid
region ecology followed by dinner. Overnight at Roop Niwas Palace.
DAY
4. IN NAWALGARHIn Nawalgarh a short excusion around the village.
Evening relax in hotel.
DAY 05. NAWALGARH - CHURIAJITGARH - NABIPURA (23 KMS/14 MILES)
Morning after breakfast leave for a 23 km ride in the typical countryside of
Shekhawati to Nabipura. En route picnic lunch. In Nabipura the camps will be
set for the overnight.
DAY 06. NABIPURA - MANDAWA - NANGLI
(22 KMS/14 MILES) Morning after breakfast begin the horse safari
crossing less arid terrain with less vegetation. Lunch half on the outskirts
of Mandawa on a stretch of sand dunes. Overnight at camps in Nanli.
DAY 07. NANGLI - DHAKAS - MAHANSAR (23 KMS/14 MILES) Post
breakfast begin the horse safari through the heart of Shekhawati region.
Lunch halt is on a high sand dune "Gonameri". Also visit the
temple dedicated to famous folk hero "Gogaji". Overnight in camps
at Mahansar.
DAY 08. MAHANSAR - DUNGARSINGHPURA -
LALSINGHPURA (22 KMS/14 MILES) Morning after breakfast begin the
horse safari to Lalsinghpura enroute crossing Dungarsinghpura and halting
there for lunch. Dinner and overnight in Lalsinghpura.
DAY
09. LALSINGHPURA - CHURU (09 KMS/6 MILES) This is the last stretch
of our journey. After breakfast begin the safari to Churu. Overnight in
Churu.
DAY 10. CHURU - JAIPUR (255 KMS/159 MILES)
Morning after breakfast drive down to Jaipur, the pink city and capital of
state of Rajasthan. Arrive late afternoon and check in at the hotel. Evening
at leisure and overnight.
DAY 11. IN JAIPUR Post
breakfast visit the Amber Fort where you will ascend on elephant back to the
fort. Later visit the beautiful City Palace, Jantar Mantar - the largest
stone observatory in the world and Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Evening
walk around the crowded bazaars or relax in the hotel.
DAY 12. JAIPUR - FATEHPUR SIKRI - AGRA (233 KMS/146 MILES) Post
breakfast proceed by surface to Agra enroute visiting Fathepur sikri. This
city built by Emperor Akbar was abandoned after 15 years due scarcity of
water. Upon arrival check in at the hotel and proceed to visit the world
famous Taj Mahal and Fort. Evening at leisure and overnight. (Taj Mahal is
closed on every Friday)
DAY 13. AGRA - DELHI (210 KMS/131
MILES) Morning either have an another visit to Taj Mahal during
sunrise or relax in the hotel. After a leisurely breakfast drive back to
Delhi enroute having a photo stop at Sikandra - the mausoleum of Emperor
Akbar. Upon arrival in Delhi proceed to the airport hotel, where you can
relax in the lobby till your pick up and transfer to International terminal.
DAY 14. LEAVE DELHI Take the flight back home on
this day.
Useful items the riders should bring with them:

Soft water bottle for he saddlebag
- Riding cap or helmet.

Sheep skin for saddle.
- Small torch or flashlight.
- Sun hat and
sun cream.
- Bathe gown for ladies.
- Lightweight raincoat.
- Leather chaps
- Camera battery charger with a cigarette lighter
lead.

Riders should also forward their weight, height and riding capabilities. The
riders are advised to ride regularly before joining the safari.
HORSES - There are three predominant breeds of Indian horses in
northwest India namely the Marwari, Kathiawadi and Sindhi. The Marwar region
(erstwhile Jodhpur State) of Rajasthan has been the home of the MARAWARI
breed. The Kathiawadi comes from the desertic tract of our neighbouring
state Gujrat called Kathiawar. Most areas where the SINDHI breeds are found
have now gone in the SINDH province of Pakistan.
