New terminal (T3) at IGI Airport to
be operational by July 2010

The infrastructure facilities of Terminal 3 (T3) at the
IGI Airport, New Delhi will be ready by March 2010, said
the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) sources.
After that, the ORAT (Operational Readiness and Airport
Transfer) trials will be carried out for three months. The
terminal will be ready for commercial operations in July
2010. To get an update recently, Praful Patel, civil
aviation minister and Sheila Dikshit, the chief minister
of NCT Delhi, visited the project site. They also
inaugurated the check-in counters in the departure level.
Terminal 3 will have170 check-in counters, spread over six
islands. Lufthansa Group’s two
affiliate airlines to increase flight frequencies in India

With an aim to further strengthen its position in India,
the airlines of Deutsche Lufthansa AG is making full use
of opportunities within the integrated airline group. The
airline’s affiliate SWISS International Air Lines will
increase flights between Mumbai and Zurich from five to
six per week from June 2010. The SWISS flight from Delhi
to Zurich will increase from five to six frequencies per
week in the current winter schedule.
Lufthansa’s recently integrated affiliate- Austrian
Airlines will increase frequencies on the Vienna – Delhi
route from five to six in the next summer schedule,
starting end of March 2010. Axel Hilgers, Director-South
Asia, Lufthansa said, “By boosting connectivity for Indian
travellers from key gateways, our aviation group responds
to encouraging demand trends in this strategic market.”
AirAsia launches daily direct Kochi-Kuala Lumpur flight

AirAsia recently launched the daily direct Kochi-Kuala
Lumpur flight. The occasion was graced by the presence of
Anuar Kasman, Honorary Consul General of Malaysia for
Southern India based in Chennai, accompanied by Kathleen
Tan, Regional Head of Commercial, AirAsia. Also present
were tourism delegates, hoteliers, travel agents, airport
authorities etc.
Air Arabia plans to introduce eight
additional flights between Sharjah-Goa this month

According to a report, Air Arabia plans to introduce eight
additional flights between Sharjah and Goa to meet demand
during the forthcoming holiday season. The airline will
offer these services to Goa on the 17th, 23rd, 24th, 30th
of this month.
The airline will also launch supplementary flights to Goa
from January 4-7, 2010. These flights will depart from
Sharjah at 2.25 pm (local time) and arrive in Goa at 7 pm
(local time). The return flights will leave Goa at 7.45 pm
(local time) and land in Sharjah at 9.40 pm (local time).
The airline currently provides round-trip flights three
times a week between Dabolim International Airport in Goa
and Air Arabia's hub in Sharjah. The airline also offers
visitors from Goa to Sharjah a Tourist Visa service.
New Airport Development Fee

have introduced Airport Development Fees with effect from
1st Jan 2010 which will be charged @ INR 150.00 per pax(
USD 3.3 or Euro 2.30) for the domestic sector and INR
1000/- per pax (USD 22.22 or Euro 15.40) for international
