Dear Partners,

Namaste from !ndia!

Even humble village huts in Rajasthan can express artistic talent, with peacocks and other auspicious signs painted on thick walls of mud and dung. The dwellings are practical too, sometimes circular to resist wind and quake, thatched for insulation, with a courtyard for space and shade, but above all, it’s a splash of color on the edge of the desert, a celebration of life for farmers and potters alike.

In the scrub desert towns of Shekhawati, decorated mansions, or havelis, dazzle all who come past. They may be crumbling at times but their huge frescoes remain the status symbol of rich 19th century silk route merchants. Sheltering under archways and jutting eaves, exterior murals are just a glimpse of the wonders inside where painted walls and mirror work offer the perfect antidote to a harsh dusty land.

Come and see India beyond the Taj!

As always, Celebrate !ncredible !ndia Anytime, Anywhere with iTPL.
